EU ban on animal testing

flopsy bunny

This time last year the EU’s total ban on animal testing for make-up came into force. The deadline to phase out testing for cosmetic products was 11 March 2013. Since then, cosmetics tested on animals cannot be marketed in the EU… Yay Europe!

It is for reasons like this that our membership of the EU is so important. If an individual state says “No animal testing”, the cosmetics industry goes “Meh”. If all of the EU says “NO ANIMAL TESTING!”, things change pretty quick.

The current Westminster government plans a referendum on EU membership within a few years. It seems likely England will vote to leave Europe. The only way Scotland has any chance of remaining in the EU is as an independent member state.

Vote YES on 18 September 2014. Do it for the bunnies!
